My Tween & Me
Families with children ages 7-12
Learn how to build lasting connections with your pre-teen in a safe and supportive group! This is a facilitated program that provides parents and their tweens with the knowledge, tool and support they need during the transition to adolescence. This program will help you build a positive relationship with your tween that will help them make safe, healthy choices now and during their teen years.
Nobody's Perfect
Families with children ages 0-6
​This is a nationally recognized parenting program that helps support the parents of young children (ages 0-6). Sessions are based on the needs and interests of parents/caregivers and can include child development, discipline, and healthy lifestyle; or simply to share parenting concerns in a casual setting!
Healthy Baby Club
For expecting moms
A pre and post-natal support program that includes weekly sessions on all topics related to pregnancy and the early weeks postpartum, including stages of pregnancy, labour and delivery, nutrition and breastfeeding; as well as a tour of the hospital/delivery room. Participants will benefit from peer support and mentoring. Nutritional support is provided.
Breastfeeding Support Clinic
For new moms
​A drop-in support program in co-operation with NL Health where you can get breastfeeding support, weigh your baby, and address any postnatal concerns or questions you may have directly with a Public Health Nurse or our Healthy Baby Club educators.
Car Seat Safety Checks/Installs
We have staff members who are certified car seat technicians through the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada. Please contact us if you would like a seat safety check or installation.
Clothing Closet
We have a selection of gently used infant and children's clothing that is offered free of charge to families who use the Resource Centres. Email or call us with a clothing request, or feel free to just stop by and browse the rack during playgroups. Donations accepted.
Lending Libraries
We have a Toy Library for our families to borrow educational toys, games and puzzles; Book Buddies (a childrens book lending library); and a Parent Resource Library where you can borrow books and resources covering a large variety of parenting issues. These resources are available to all families who use our centres - ask your educator for more information!
